Get Involved

Whether you are making a donation, volunteering, completing a student placement, or becoming a member, there are many ways to get involved at HIV/AIDS Regional Services (HARS).  Click on the icons below for the many ways in which you can help our work in the community.

Volunteer at HARS

If you are looking for meaningful volunteer work in a fun, welcoming environment, look no further!

As a volunteer you can help staff the office front desk & drop-in space, join our fundraising committee, drive service users to appointments, help organize events like the AIDS Walk and the AIDS Vigil, become a board member or assist with a number of other activities including online and community outreach.

We provide all volunteers with training which includes basic information on HIV and related topics.
For more info about our volunteer program, download our volunteer package or reach Diane Kearnan using our Contact Form.

Donate to HARS

100%  of your donation goes directly to our service users.

At HARS we always appreciate the generous support of individual donors. Donations help us to provide service users with essential items – warm winter wear, a monthly hot lunch, personal care items, vitamins, emergency relief funding and help us provide special programs and services.

HARS is a registered charity. All donations over $10 are acknowledged by a charitable receipt.

To make a donation fill out this short form. Please send it in with your cheque, made payable to HIV/AIDS Regional Services.  Or, you can make an online donation by using Micharity.

Student Opportunities

We offer enriching and learning opportunities for students who wish to gain hands-on experience and for a future career in the social service sector. We invite students from health care, social work and social service programs to submit their resume with a cover letter for placement with HARS. Attention to detail, respect for diversity, and ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment is essential for success in this role.  For more information, please contact Allison Cope, City Support Coordinator at 613-545-3698 or through our Contact Form.

At HARS we believe that our work is grounded in the communities we serve.

HARS relies on an extensive membership base of individuals who wish to have a say in our operations and who want to feel a part of the HIV/AIDS movement.

Members are granted voting privileges at our AGM and receive a quarterly agency newsletter.

To become a member, fill out our HARS Membership Registration Form.
